WIN THE WAIT

Ever feel like you’re just waiting for your time to come?
Waiting for the boat to come in…for the opportunity you’ve been hoping for to finally arrive? Maybe you feel like you’ve been standing at the base of mountain after mountain, wondering why things aren’t happening according to your timeline.

I’ve been there. I’ve had big plans and a clear vision for where I thought I was headed, only to be met with challenge after challenge, pivot after pivot, until the path I was on no longer looked anything like the one I had imagined. And yet, even through the discomfort, as I learned to win the wait, everything unfolded in a far more beautiful way than I could have planned for myself.

One of those seasons came when I felt like opportunities were passing me by, and a desire I had might never come to pass. I shared this with my brother, and his response was simple: “Win the wait.” At first, I didn’t fully understand what he meant. Then he shared a verse from Isaiah that brought it to life:

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

We often think of “waiting” as sitting back and doing nothing until God moves. But what if waiting on the Lord is more like a waiter in a restaurant, attentive, present, and quick to respond? What if we approached Him with that kind of focus and service?

Imagine the Lord sitting at your table. How would you serve Him? You’d greet Him warmly, anticipate His needs, move with care, and make sure nothing was overlooked. That’s the spirit behind waiting upon the Lord.

Jesus Himself gave us the way to do it:

“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.”  Matthew 25:40

If we are to “win the wait,” we do it by serving others, loving and lifting those God has placed right in front of us, as if we were serving the Lord Himself.

At MTN OPS, we focus much of our service on feeding God’s children. Consider the miracle of that. He is a God of miracles, fully capable of providing for every need instantly. Yet, in His wisdom, He allows, invites, and even commands us to be part of the miracle, to gather, to multiply, and to distribute.

With every order you place, a meal is given to a family in need through Operation Conquer Hunger. Because of this community, millions of meals have now been shared across the country and around the world. That’s not just a program, it’s people like you stepping into the miracle of God’s provision.

So I challenge each of us: win the wait today, tomorrow, and all month long by waiting upon the Lord with small acts of kindness. These simple moments will ripple out in ways you can’t imagine, planting seeds of hope in the lives of those you serve.

And as you do, may your strength be renewed. May your spirit rise on wings like eagles. May you run and not grow weary, walk and not faint. And may joy be yours, always, when you choose to WIN THE WAIT.
